The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479, the Faculty of Health Sciences is renowned for research of outstanding quality and rigorous academic training in a broad range of disciplines. Over the course of its history, researchers at the Faculty of Health Sciences have been awarded four Nobel prizes. In recent years, the Faculty, which is home to the largest medical and dental schools in Scandinavia, has also become a leading center for biomedical and clinical research. It is located at the heart of the biomedical cluster of Greater Copenhagen and southern Sweden, which is known as Medicon Valley. This includes other universities in the area, and provides the benefit of being situated adjacent to some of the foremost pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the world.
